I have made it my work to find the Portugal that does not announce itself

I'm Christine. Working harvest at a biodynamic vineyard in the UK was what first showed me what this could be. Being part of the quiet, daily work of people who truly care. The patience, the deep connection to the land. Something about it settled in me and never left.

Beyond Prestige Wine grew from that feeling. Travel has changed. The places we loved for their stillness have filled, and much of what is now sold as luxury is simply a great deal, arranged at speed. We have taken the other path: fewer things, given the time they deserve. Small company. Long afternoons. Permission to step outside for air whenever you need it, without explaining why. Places that stay quiet because so few think to look for them.

This is for anyone who wants to slow down, savour every moment, and leave lighter than they arrived.

The craft makers and hosts we visit are people we know and trust personally, chosen as much for the warmth of their welcome as for their craft. We travel off the beaten path and with intention, every visit an opportunity to give something back to the places and people that make Portugal so quietly extraordinary.

Across Portugal and Spain: the Douro, the Dão, the Minho, Setúbal and the Alentejo, reaching to Galicia's Ribeira Sacra, and out to the islands of the Açores and Madeira, where untouched nature and genuine hospitality meet.

In the Land

This is Iberia beyond the guidebook. Regenerative estates where the land is being restored. Ancient traditions kept alive by hand. Tables set in nature, in places you would never find alone. Largely outdoors, and largely quiet. Long walks and very few people, rather than anything resembling a tour.

  • Multi-day stays at regenerative and restorative estates
  • Foot treading and harvest traditions, as they have been done for centuries
  • Wine and food in nature, paired with the landscape
  • Small groups, deeply local, completely off the beaten path

Beyond travel

There is another side to this work. Through The Finder, Christine connects a small number of clients to opportunities across Portugal and Spain: off-market wine estates and regenerative projects, and hotel, residence and spa management contracts. Sourced through relationships, never listings, and always with the same care.

A few things people ask

What does a sensory-considerate itinerary mean?
A day shaped around how much you can comfortably take in, rather than how much can be fitted into it. Small company. Mornings and early afternoons rather than crowded evenings. Unhurried time between places. Room to step outside whenever you need it. And no obligation to remain anywhere longer than you wish to.
Who is this for?
Anyone who would rather taste the day than rush through it. If you find full, crowded itineraries draining, if noise and pace wear you out, or if you simply travel to slow down and engage your senses, this way of travelling was built with you in mind. No label required.
How is this different from an ordinary wine tour?
Most tours are arranged for density: crowded rooms, unpredictable schedules, strong scents, echoing halls, long stretches with no easy exit. Ours is arranged the other way. Small groups, an itinerary shared well in advance, an honest description of each place, and the freedom to step away at any moment.
Do I have to drink wine?
No. Wine is offered, never assumed, and thoughtful non-alcoholic pairings are available throughout. Many guests come for the landscape, the people and the table.
Where do you work?
Across Portugal and Spain, with private tastings in Porto and Lisboa.
Do you host in Mandarin?
Yes. Christine is a native Mandarin speaker, and everything can be hosted in Mandarin or English.
